Hello to all associated with CHRONIC PAIN,

John Rains
This is to let you all know who I am and what I'm doing to bring awareness to Chronic Pain, and support for the Care Providers.
My story is one of hope-hope that one day chronic pain will be treated properly and that those in pain will be treated with respect.

My name is John Rains and I represent my wife who was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD) in 1999 and still suffers with this dreaded disease that plagues people of all ages and race world wide. Carol and I have been married a little over 20 years; we have three children and five grandchildren, and two dogs. We live in Washington State, where we've both have lived most of our lives.

We love being outside and at one time enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, and gardening. Most of these are just found memories now. Though we still try to do some gardening together, and we have camped a few times.

Carol and I both are volunteers with the American Pain Foundation; we are two of Washington's Power over Pain-State Leaders. (POP-SL) We also now have "There is Hope..." A United Voice for Chronic Pain... which started with Carol wanting to help others with chronic pain even more. In addition to being a POP-AN-WA state leader one of my responsibilities with "There is Hope..." is to inform others of the resources that are available to them as care providers/caregivers. There is information available to us as caregivers, and I do not propose to know it all, I am learning and always willing to help where I can.

Loaded with a desire to share what I'm learning about Chronic Pain and on being a Caregiver/Care Provider for my wife, I want you to know that I am here to help where I can-from speaking at functions, to answering mail - emails and phone calls. I will be here for you. Don't ever give up hope, together we can make a difference-together we will unite and become- A United Voice for Chronic Pain...
