Are you or someone you know in Crisis ? You can get involved!
Support HR 2994, the National Pain Care Policy Act The National Fibromyalgia (NFA) is pleased to announce our 2008 National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day campaign, Caring by Sharing. We are asking support group leaders, advocates, patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and the FM community as a whole to join us on or around May 12, 2008 in this nationwide, multi-faceted campaign, designed to provide opportunities for everyone to express their support. Click here for more information - The National Fibromyalgia Association I'm Carol , I live in beautiful Washington State, minutes from the mountains and a few hours from the Pacific Ocean. My husband John and I have been married just a little over 20 years. We have three children, five grand-children, number six in July 2008! We also have two dogs - Yoshe is are Chow-Chow, Snoops is our Dashhound and Trapper John M.D. (mouse detective) is our cat! In 1999 I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome,(CRPS) it started in my right knee, now my legs, left arm, back of my neck and my face are all affected with CRPS. There is Hope..., is a way for me to help others with chronic pain. There are so many wonderful friends who have guided me to this point in my life, and I hope they'll be with me for the rest of it...... I really hope our site will be of help to you, we want to provide information for you-but most of all I want you to know you have a friend-Were here to help where we can as you, and your family, learn about life with Chronic Pain. Its so important that you learn all you can about your pain. As you your family and friends, start on this new path you'll soon see how to handle the rollercoaster of emotions that you may all experience. At times I've found keeping a pain journal has helped-(I do not use it to focus on the pain) I record my feelings, whats going on around me, my family, I do record my pain level using the commonly used 1-10 scale. I also record my medications, times taken, if it helped, I include other things I do to get some pain relief as well. Like a hot bath with Epsom salts, rest, talking to a friend are some of things I do to help ease the pain.
We are always open to new ideas, so please feel free to use our form to submit any requests, questions or concerns that you may have. If you have a story-thought-poem-about chronic pain and life and you would like to share it with others-
