Are you or someone you know in Crisis ? You can get involved!
Support HR 2994, the National Pain Care Policy Act . Click here for more information - I'm Carol , I live in beautiful Washington State, minutes from the mountains and a few hours from the Pacific Ocean. My husband John and I have been married just a little over 20 years. We have three children, six grand-children. We also have two dogs - Yoshe is are Chow-Chow, Snoops is our Dash hound and Trapper John M.D. (mouse detective) is our cat! Why we became so interested in Chronic Pain In 1999 Carol was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, (CRPS) it started in my right knee, after an on the job injury. Now my legs, left arm, back of my neck and the lower half of my face are all affected with CRPS. There is Hope..., is a way for me to help others with chronic pain. There are so many wonderful friends who have guided me to this point in my life, and I hope they'll be with me for the rest of it...... I really hope our site will be of help to you, we want to provide information for you, family and friends- but most of all I want you to know you have a friend- Were here to help you, and your family, learn about life with Chronic Pain. Its so important that you learn all you can about your pain. As you your family and friends, start on this new path you'll soon learn how to handle the roller-coaster of emotions that you may all experience. At times I've found keeping a pain journal has helped I record my feelings, whats going on around me, my family, and weather conditions. I record my medications, times taken, if it helped, I include other things I do to get some pain relief as well. Like a hot bath with Epsom salts, resting, talking to a friend, pace, look at photo books, these are some of things I do to help ease the pain that just won't go away. May 2008 After a ten year battle and with the help of my attorney and his staff, Washington State finally settled with me and put me on the states disability pension! We are always open to new ideas, so please feel free to submit any requests, questions or concerns that you may have. Also if you have a story-thought-poem-about chronic pain, caregivers and life and you would like to share it with others-

I can't give up hope until all reason of hope is gone. I can’t give up hope- in spite of all the pain: so I can either live in hope or I can live in despair. It's my choice... |
